5 (More) Reasons to Plan Staycations in JA

To staycation or not to staycation? This is one of the biggest struggles I have. Sometimes, it’s because I really want to travel outside of my comfort zone and try new cultures. Other times, it’s a budget concern. Naturally, as the name suggests, I decided to rediscover my own island before I conquer the rest of the world. And here are some reasons I made that choice to do more staycations in Jamaca:

1. Being Kinder To My Pocket

I don’t live in a vacuum. Things cost money man. Staycations are a great way to cut costs on travel-related expenditures, such as lodging, travel-related meals, and transportation. You can take advantage of everything Jamaica has to offer without going overboard if you remain near to home.

2. Jamaica is a vacay zone (#ILiveWhereYouVacation)

It’s easy to take where you stay for granted since you already live there. But sometimes, the best vacations are the ones where you can simply relax and unwind. By staying close to home, you can take advantage of the island’s natural beauty and enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation.

3. Rediscovering My ‘Backyard’

Jamaica is a small island, but there’s so much to see and do here. By planning a staycation, you’ll have the chance to rediscover your own backyard and appreciate the beauty and culture of your home country.  Whether you’re exploring a new part of the island or revisiting an old favorite, you’re sure to be amazed by all that Jamaica has to offer.

4. Experience new events

There’s always something going on the island. I get to experience a variety of local Festivals and events that may not be happening during other times of the year, giving a unique insight into the local culture and traditions.

5. Re-creating myself

You know how you learn something new every day? Well, traveling helps with that.  A staycation provides you with the opportunity to learn something new, whether it’s a new skill, hobby, or interest. You can take a cooking class, learn to surf or dive, or explore the island’s rich history and culture.

Convinced yet? Let me know your thoughts! Do you prefer to plan an international trip or would you rather a staycation?
