With Jamaica proudly holding the title of the largest country in the Caribbean, it’s no shocker that we’ve got communities sharing the same name but residing in different parishes. Each of these locales boasts its own unique characteristics and stories just waiting to be told. Join us as we embark on an exciting journey to explore 12 different Hopewell scattered throughout the island.

  1. Hopewell Hanover Known to be one of the most peaceful towns in jamaica with its seaside view on the road to Sandbay. Just outside Montego Bay and past Long Bridge this community is filled with close knit families and some expert fisher men. Round Hill Jamaica, a resort located on the eastern side of the community’s beachfront, is its primary tourist draw.
  1. Hopewell Clarendon
  1. Hopewell Westmoreland: Settlement in Sheffield neighboring Williamsfield .Fun fact the entire area was once a slave plantation owned by Samuel and Mary Lauderdale Spence  between 1817- 1834 with about 73 slaves as the last recorded tally in 1832.
  1. Hopewell St Andrew: This community was also interesting a plantation in the early 1800s
  1. Hopewell St Elizabeth: Clean and quiet, Hopewell in St Elizabeth is renowned for its vibrant agricultural scene and if you come from the area, you know about the cows. With fertile soil and a favorable climate, this community is a haven for farmers, cultivating a variety of crops ranging from juicy fruits to bountiful vegetables.

  1. Hopewell Rd Portland: Portland is famous for its lush landscapes, including breathtaking waterfalls and the historic significance of Nanny of the Maroons, a national heroine. The area is renowned for its natural beauty and the heroic tales of the Maroons who fought against British forces​​​​.

  1. Hopewell Hall St Thomas: Hopewell Hall in Airy Castle (Saint Thomas) was once an old Sugar estate 1 hour away from The Port Antonio Ken Jones  which is located just 36.3 km north west of Hopewell Hall.
  1. Hopewell Rd St Catherine: Let’s just say, after hours aren’t the best times to pass through this community. Especially if you are from out of town. IYKYK
