5 Reasons To Visit Negril, Jamaica

Negril.
The ‘Party Mecca’ of the West End?
I would wholeheartedly agree and here are five reasons to support that theory:

1. The Beaches

As a Montegonian, my standards for beaches and relaxation since birth have been high (argue with yuh mammi). So I can be very skeptical about what other Jamaicans consider as a ‘nice beach’ (*insert Bombastic side eye here*).
But the beaches in Negril are absolutely stunning, with crystal clear water and soft white sand that stretches on for miles. The atmosphere is lively and perfect for partying, with music, drinks, and plenty of activities to keep you entertained.
The water is just the right temperature between not too warm and ‘I’m not getting more than my feet wet’. And you’re always hearing some tunes. No matter where in the ocean you are.

2. The Cliffs and Cave

In addition to its pristine beaches, Negril is also home to stunning cliffs and caves.  You can explore the rugged coastline and take in the breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. Some of the popular spots include Rick’s Cafe and Xtabi Resort.
I do recommend that you have an expert or local lead the excursion because those cliffs, though beautiful, can be very dangerous.

3. The Waterfalls

It’s no secret that Jamaica is known for its beautiful waterfalls, and Negril is no exception.
Take a day trip to nearby Mayfield Falls, a series of natural cascading waterfalls surrounded by lush greenery. It’s a great way to escape the heat and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters.

4. The Nightlife

As much as I love MoBay, it really only comes alive on Thursday onwards. Negril is held by no such compunctions. It caters to that need every day of the week. Mega Mondays. Stifla Tuesday at Nomprel Road. Motion Wednesday at West End Negril. Club Ville at Margaritaville on Friday or Kenny’s Italian Cafe.  Negril never sleeps; there’s always something going on in Negril after dark.

5. The Views

I LOVE being by the ocean. It’s my happy place. Gorgeous vistas are my love language. But let me sit here and testify about the beauty of a Negril sunset. Picture this. You and your fave gal pals or you and your significant other have been having the time of your lives in this place of sun, fun, and magic. The perfect day is coming to an end. And then bam.

There it is.

Better than any picture could’ve shown or any description could’ve said. And you start to believe in magic or a higher power because something that beautiful could only be made by someone all-powerful. That’s the power of a Negril sunset.
In conclusion, your honor, Negril is without a doubt the party mecca of the West End. With its stunning beaches, lively nightlife, and delicious food, it’s the perfect destination for anyone looking to let loose and have some fun in the sun.
